Faith Jones is an artist from Durham, North Carolina currently based in Brooklyn, New York.
The youngest of a family of five, Faith grew up in a musical family and remembers singing shyly in her dad’s humble home studio as early as four years old. She was the quiet one growing up, but found her voice throughout her public schooling from elementary to high school by becoming involved in choir, theatre, and student government.
As a music student at UNC-Chapel Hill, Faith performed in Playmakers Repertory Company’s productions of She Loves Me and Ragtime. After graduating, she continued performing locally in North Carolina in regional theatre at Theatre Raleigh, including performing as Joan in their 2021 production of Fun Home. It was during these college years and post-college years in North Carolina that Faith began finding her voice as a songwriter, releasing her first single, “The Absence of Light.” After offering her vocals on a cover of “For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield for Cover Charge: NC Artists Go Under Cover to Benefit Cat’s Cradle, she earned a feature on NPR Music’s Live Sessions through a live-streamed performance for WMOT’s Finally Friday.
Shortly after moving to New York City in 2022, Faith hit the road as Mary in the North American national tour of the Regent’s Park Open Air production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Following her time on the road, Faith released her second original single, “Solitude.” Currently, she is on tour with MJ the Musical as a swing, understudying the roles of Rachel and Katherine.
Faith believes in the power of art as a means to connection. Her empathic approach to singing and storytelling allows her to see others through vulnerably illuminating the truth within herself.
